Christadelphian Beliefs
The Christadelphians embrace the teachings of Jesus Christ through careful study of the Bible. Our name captures our essence – ‘Christadelphian’ combines two Greek words meaning ‘brothers (and sisters) in Christ,’ a title our community adopted in the 1860s.
At the heart of our faith lies a commitment to living as Jesus and his first-century apostles taught. We walk this path together, drawing strength and finding forgiveness through our relationship with God. Our hope is anchored in the promised return of Jesus Christ to establish God’s Kingdom on Earth – a future where his faithful followers will be blessed with eternal life.
Please feel free to contact us here if you have any queries regarding our beliefs. Find our more about us by visiting the Christadelphian Auxiliary Lecturing League at thechristadelphians.org.uk.

One God – One Creator
The universe has one Creator – the God who formed a special relationship with Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and David, and who is the God and Father of Jesus Christ.
Jesus Christ – The Son Of God
Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God, born of the virgin Mary by the personal power of God, His Holy Spirit.
Jesus’ Perfection
In Christ, we see God’s perfect plan embodied in human form. Though he shared our human nature, he demonstrated divine love, holiness, and righteousness in everything he did and said, showing us how to live.
The Wages Of Sin Is Death
We are mortal and sinful and struggle with imperfection. We cannot achieve salvation on our own, and after death, our existence ends until the day of resurrection.
God Has A Plan For Us
Throughout history, God has shown His dedication to humanity’s salvation through promises made to Abraham and David. These promises reveal His plan for an earthly Kingdom under Christ’s leadership and how we can participate in this future.
Salvation Through Jesus Christ
Through his perfect life, sacrificial death, and resurrection to immortal life, Jesus Christ overcame both human mortality and sinfulness (sometimes referred to as the devil). Though he was the only begotten Son of God, he experienced every aspect of human life while remaining without sin.
Acknowledgement Of Belief
Salvation requires understanding and accepting the teachings about God’s Kingdom and the name of Jesus Christ.
Full Immersion Baptism
A person demonstrates their faith and need for forgiveness through complete water baptism, confessing their sins. This marks their entry into becoming an heir of the promises made to Abraham as they await His Kingdom.
Following Jesus In Life
Following baptism, believers join a community of faith, supporting one another in service. Daily life becomes centered on following Jesus’s example through selfless love for God and others, maintained through reading the Word of God, prayer, and devoted service.
Remembering Jesus Through Bread and Wine
The community regularly shares bread and wine each week to remember Christ’s sacrifice and God’s work of salvation.
The Return Of Jesus
We anticipate Jesus’s physical return to establish worldwide peace and righteousness, with Jerusalem as the capital of God’s Kingdom. Israel’s modern presence serves as a sign of this coming reality.
The Judgement Seat
While death brings temporary unconsciousness, those who know God’s truth and have been baptised will be raised when Christ returns. They will face judgment: the faithful will receive eternal life in God’s Kingdom, while those who rejected or were unfaithful to God’s Word will face permanent death.
Allegiance to Jesus Christ
Believers give their highest loyalty to Christ, living as citizens of his coming Kingdom while respecting human laws that don’t conflict with God’s commands.
Marriage
The community upholds the sanctity of marriage, promotes moral living, and maintains a peaceful stance by avoiding military service and political involvement.
